Vancouver project to some love to local park

Everett Crowley Park is a popular venue in Vancouver, and to help expand its tree canopy, a planting day has been scheduled, with the organizers seeking some helping hands.

The planting project will be held in early November, as this will give the newly installed plants time to get used to their new home before winter arrives. While they work, the helpers will learn about the history of the site and what makes it special, and all ages are welcome to get involved.

The group will be removing invasive species while giving some care to native plants. They will also plant a variety of shrubs and herbaceous perennials that are endemic to the area. The equipment, including gloves and tools, will be provided to the attendees, and light refreshments will be served to the volunteers. They will meet up at Champlain Heights Community Centre, which can be found at 3350 Maquinna Drive, and will head out from there.

Organizers may choose to distribute Promotional Products to those who help at out a community service project similar to this one to thank them for lending a hand.

The Planting Day in Everett Crowley Park will begin at 10:00 am on November 5th. Anyone who would like to register can do so on the Champlain Heights Community website, which also offers further information.
