Vancouver organizes mini-recycling event

A pop-up recycling event can make it easier for the public to be good stewards of their local environment, and one of those activities will be on offer in Vancouver in early June.

The city will be running a mini-recycling event as part of the larger Marpole Community Day celebration. Items can be dropped off any time during its four hour schedule, and , and the collection point will be set up at the south side of the Marpole-Oakridge Community Centre.

To help make it easier for the public to take advantage of the opportunity, the organizers have prepared a list of materials that will and will not be accepted. Items such as cell phones, razors, electric bike, scooter and skateboard batteries, clean and dry plastics, household batteries, toner and ink cartridges, light bulbs, writing instruments and also carbon monoxide and smoke detectors are all on the roster.

Encouraging community members to reduce, reuse and recycle can help to ensure items are disposed of properly, and also helps to keep them out of local landfills. A flyer printing company can prepare thrifty but effective promotional materials for an activity.

The City of Vancouver has scheduled this Mini-Pop-up recycling event for June 7th. It will run from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm, and a full list of what may be dropped off is available on the city’s website.
