Vancouver organizes community clean-up

The Victoria Fraserview area of Vancouver is about to get some love and care thanks to a city-hosted community clean up.

Those who register for the activity will be picking up litter and other debris from their designated work area, and all help will be appreciated. As it is scheduled for the day after Halloween, the helpers may encounter candy wrappers, old costume bits and other items.

The organizers will have a tent set up at Tecumseh Park on the day of the clean-up, and from here, the volunteers can pick up Bags, tongs and litter pickers, as well as gloves. They are also welcome to bring their own. Attendees will then head out to complete the task at hand before returning to the staging area for some refreshments and conversation. All ages are welcome, and it may be a fun way to introduce kids to hands-on environmental advocacy. Anyone interested has been asked to register in advance.

A clean-up or other event that counts on the assistance of volunteers may benefit from the services of Print shops. They can craft signage, as well as pop-up canopies and other tenting to set up at staging areas.

This opportunity to help give Vancouver a good clean will be held on Friday, November 1st. It will run from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm.
