Poutine, a dish that hails from Quebec, will be the star of a Vancouver fundraiser that will lend a hand to local youth in need.
Eateries that have signed up to take part in Poutine With Purpose will be helping to fund Mealshare, and for each order sold, a meal will be provided to a young person who is experiencing food insecurity. Since the fundraiser’s inception in 2013, at least 35,000 poutines have been sold.
The participating restaurants have been invited to come up with their own individual take on the traditional dish of fries, gravy and cheese curds, and the public are encouraged to try as many as they wish. Tickets are not needed to enjoy the experience, and along with Vancouver, the event is being hosted in Calgary, Victoria and Hamilton. To help spread the word, those who enjoy their meal are encouraged to talk about their experience on social media.
The organizers of this annual event have noted that they appreciate the support of their local sponsors. Adding the name and Logo Design of sponsors to both the online and hard copy marketing materials of an activity like this is a simple way to thank community minded companies.
This year’s Poutine With Purpose fundraiser will begin on April 23rd, and it will wrap up on May 1st. More details, including a list of participating eateries, are available on the function’s website.
