A professional development opportunity for Vancouver physiotherapists has been rescheduled to this coming fall, and it will give professionals in the field a way to add to their current skill set.
The Physiotherapy Association of BC has scheduled its Defying Gravity - Treating Children with Low Tone workshop for this September, and these two days of learning will explore hypotonia, as well as its causes and treatments. Hypotonia is a common reason for children to be referred to physiotherapy, and the workshop will explore an assortment of approaches that can be used to treat the condition.
The syllabus for the seminar will explore the most current research in the field. Stability, the role and importance of the vestibular system, and motor development in children are just some of the topics that have been added to the agenda. The students will learn through a combination of videos, lectures, handling labs and problem solving in a small group setting.
When preparing to offer this type of workshop, the planners will be able to source manuals, handouts and other materials from local Print shops.
Lifemark Physiotherapy Clinic, which is located at 181 Keefer Place in Vancouver, will welcome the registrants to the Defying Gravity - Treating Children with Low Tone workshop on September 25th and 26th. Both days will run from 8:30am until 4:30pm.
