The Surrey Canada Day celebration is returning to the city. It is presented by City of Surrey Special Events.
There will be lots of activities taking place that should appeal to everyone in the family. Amusement rides like a Ferris Wheel, the Zipper and the Spider will be set up; tickets are $23 for 20 or $45 for 40. Food and drink will be available for sale from concessions and food trucks.
There is a senior’s strawberry tea, an activity tent with tai chi demonstrations and other activities aimed at older adults, and Toddler Town with safe activities for the younger set. Kids’ World will have Canada Day-themed crafts and face painters. There will also be Science World demonstrations, Storyville, games land and a sports zone with golf and athletics. In addition, guests can enter a draw to win a Honda Civic.
There will be several musical performances and this year’s artists include Tom Cochrane with Red Rider, Michael Bernard Fitzgerald and Ginalina. The main event of the evening will be the fireworks display at 10:15 PM.
