The Surrey Canada Day Celebration is taking place on the 148th birthday of Canada.
The day will begin with opening ceremonies hosted by Mayor Linda Hepner, and will feature speeches, free cupcakes, and the singing of the national anthem by Tyson Venegas.
This will be followed by a range of activities that will appeal to everyone. There are set to be amusement rides, exhibits from local businesses and organizations, and a seniors’ strawberry tea at Cloverdale Rec Center. In addition, some of the musical guests who are appearing at this year's event include Rockin' Robin and the Magical Tree, Me and Mae, Little India, Jessie Farrel, and Blue Rodeo.
Kids World will offer lots of activities for the children, and the Sports Zone will let people try out sitting volleyball and speed badminton. Food concessions will be on hand and the evening is set to finish off with a fireworks display.
Surrey Print companies might help advertise the festivities by providing Flyers to be distributed in the city.
