A summer camp option for Surrey kids is set to have the whole town buzzing, and it will introduce attendees to some of the area's most industrious insects.
The Honeybee Centre in Surrey has scheduled a summer camp that will be all about bees, their ecology and how they produce honey. This will be the third year that the activity has been offered, and it has consistently proven to be a crowd pleaser.
The camp will be led by a beekeeper with lots of experience in apiculture, and the kids will be able to enjoy an assortment of hands-on activities. They will make crafts such as beeswax candles, plant a pollinator-friendly garden, extract honey and even gain some experience as a junior beekeeper. It will run for four days, and everyone will get to go home with a set of projects they have completed.
