Surrey home learners will soon have the chance to take part in a session that will introduce them to some hardworking, six-legged ladies from the local area.
The Honeybee Centre will be hosting a workshop for home learners that will provide a sneak peek into the life of a beekeeper. It will combine classroom and outdoor learning, and it is for those aged four and up.
The session will begin indoors with a presentation, before the kids go outside with Beekeeper Cassie for a hands-on introduction to apiary practices. They will open a working colony, inspect the hive, smoke the bees and see if they can spot the queen. Attendees will be invited to taste honey fresh from the frame, and tickets for the activity are $29.98 each. Kids should wear long pants and shoes with closed toes. Beekeeping jackets will be provided.
Kids often get excited by the opportunity to learn about the world around them. A workshop like this offers the chance to do so, and handouts, certificates and documents that may be required can be prepared by Stationery printers.
The team at the Honeybee Centre in Surrey will be offering its Junior Beekeeper - Home Learners session on May 22nd. It will run from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm at 7480 176 Street in Surrey.
