Surrey schedules summer picnic series
When it comes to family-friendly fun, Surrey has a lot to offer, and its series of community picnics has been set for 2025.
The city has organized these events for various community parks, and to make them as accessible to as many as possible, each will be held in a different neighbourhood. A portion of the funding for the gatherings has been provided by the Participation Community Challenge initiative.
The individuals and families that come out can bring a basket filled with their favourite outdoor food as well as a folding chair or blanket, and there will be city staff on hand to help keep everything running smoothly. Park Play and a mobile library will be on site, and there will be a chance to learn more about the Urban Forest Stewardship program. Bells and Whistles Mini Golf, Surrey Natural Area Partnership, and the Surrey Central Lions Club are just some of the local service organizations and businesses supporting the event series.
Outdoor activities may require decor that can withstand exposure to the elements. A banner printing company can lend a hand, and many of its options may be used over and over, making them a budget-friendly choice.
The Surrey Community Picnic Series has dates running from June 19 until August 28. Its web listing offers a full list of these, including where each will take place.
