Surrey residents to enjoy family-friendly events in September

Families across the Surrey area are gearing up for a month of fun with two community festivals taking place in the area in September.

The 15th annual Fleetwood Festival will be happening on the first weekend in September. The festival is a presentation of the Fleetwood Community Association and will feature children's activities such as bouncy castles, face painting stalls, food vendors, live entertainment, sports activities, and games. Local community organizations and small businesses will also have booths set up to provide information about their products and services.

Later in September, the Olde Harvest Fair will take place at Historic Stewart Farm. Guests will get the chance to participate in old-time activities and crafts, while enjoying a variety of food and live entertainment. Revellers can also visit the new exhibit ‘Nobody here but us chickens’, which is an exploration of the various aspects of raising chickens. Admission is covered by donations.

Both of the festivals are expected to offer a range of fun activities for visiting families, with something to appeal to those of all ages. Organizers have been working with Surrey printing companies to source marketing materials and literature to raise awareness and provide information for the event.

The Fleetwood Festival takes place at the Fleetwood Community Centre on September 7 from 11:00am - 3:00pm. Admission is free. For more information, call 604-501-5063.

The Olde Harvest Fair will take place on September 21 from 12:00pm - 3:00pm. More information can be found by calling 604-592-6956.
