Surrey preparing to bake the provinces biggest blueberry pie

In Surrey, the months of late summer and early autumn are the harvest season, and a special event has been planned to celebrate this time of year.

The city will be hosting a Agriculture Week celebration, and one of the highlights of the occasion will be the baking of the province’s largest

blueberry pie. Visitors are welcome to come and watch the construction of this large pastry, and once it is ready, slices will be distributed to the crowd.

While the pie may be the star of the show, there will be lots more going on as well. Guests can enjoy live music as well as face painting, pony rides and an inflatable corn maze. A photo booth will be set up to capture the fun of the day, and a seed planting session has also been included on the agenda.

A variety of not for profit groups and commercial vendors will have displays set up for the event goers to browse through, and some will be distributing Brochures, branded Corporate Gifts and other swag to those who stop by. There will also be an opportunity to purchase fruit, vegetables and other products.

Pie in the Plaza has been planned for September 8th. It will be taking place at the Central City Shopping Centre Plaza, and the fun is set to kick off at 11:00 am.
