Surrey Museum to hold annual Family Day event

The Surrey Museum is holding its annual ‘Viking Invasion’ on Family Day; one of several family-friendly annual events held there throughout the year. It is expected to be a fun-packed, educational day for children and adults alike; especially for those who are particularly interested in Norse history and those who have Norwegian ancestors.

The Viking Invasion will feature an authentic-looking Viking village encampment with costumed re-enactors from the Reik Felag Culture Recreation Society. The group will help to make history come alive, ensuring the day is as immersive as possible for visitors. There will be plenty of Norse-themed activities for those involved to take part in, musical entertainment and members of the Reik Felag Society will be giving demonstrations and lessons in Norse crafts. It should be a fun day for the entire family and a great interactive way to learn about Viking history.

Organizers of the event are most likely working with Surrey printing companies to prepare; they might be in need of a banner to highlight certain areas of the event or Flyers to inform the community of this upcoming event. The Flyers can be distributed through Direct Mail, by door to door delivery, as inserts in newspapers and posted in various public areas. Flyers are among the most versatile and effective form of advertising.

Viking Invasion 2013 will take place at the Surrey Museum on February 16 from 1:00 - 4:00pm. Admission to the museum is by donation only. For more information, call Heather Booth at 604-592-6956.
