Surrey lights up the holidays

The Surrey Tree Lighting Festival, a presentation of the City of Surrey's Special Events Section, is taking place this month.

There will be activities going on at three different locations – City Hall, The Snowflake Centre and Central City. Each location will have a stage where acts such as Alyssa Reid, Fred Penner, Bobs and Lolo, and the Rockin' Robin Show will entertain the crowds that gather.

There will also be free trolley rides from University Blvd. to the Central City Mall, food vendors, demonstrations of ice carving, and a road hockey zone. Other activities taking place during the festival are the Letters to Santa Station, a mini-Christmas train, a giant snow globe, face painting, Christmas carol singing, and the Shooting Star Ferris Wheel.

Of course, Santa will be available to pose for pictures with children of all ages.

In addition to this, on the same day The Surrey Nature Centre is holding a workshop so that locals can make Christmas ornaments in Green Timbers Park.

This is a popular event in Surrey, and it is likely that local Print companies have been helping the organizers to advertise by providing products such as Flyers.

The Surrey Tree Lighting Festival is being held at the Plaza at New City Hall and Atrium on November 22nd from 12:00pm - 8:00pm. Admission is free.
