Surrey event to aid local not-for-profits

Surrey is well known for being a city that cares, and an event will provide proof of this in a very tangible way.

Three local charities will be participating in the upcoming meeting of the 100+ People Who Care Surrey group, and it will be its first gathering for 2019. Attendees will meet and chat over a glass of wine, and each of the not-for-profits will give a brief presentation that outlines what it does, what it needs and the difference it makes in the community.

Once all of the presenters have made their case, the group will hold a secret ballot to determine which not-for-profit will benefit from the month’s collection. Each attendee will donate $50 to the March charity of choice, which can make this an easy way for people to give.

The organizers of the event explained that the three charitable groups will have been chosen at random from the list of nominees that are made by community members. As the function will also provide networking opportunities, those who plan on attending may want to ensure that they have plenty of professionally-made Business Cards at the ready to hand out.

Surrey’s Modern General will be the location for this fundraiser, and it has been planned for March 7th. Anyone who would like to nominate a group can do so at the website that has been set up for this purpose.
