The Canadian Cancer Society's 9th annual White Rock/South Surrey Relay for Life will take place at Centennial Park on June 22 - 23 beginning at 7:00 pm. Registration is $15 per person, with a meal before the run available for $6.50.
The Relay for Life takes place in several communities in Canada and the United States in June. It raises money to support cancer research, help educate the public about the disease, and influence public policy regarding health.
Participants convince their friends, family, and co-workers to sponsor them. The event will begin with a lap by survivors and current patients. People will be walking for themselves and for those they know who have been lost to the disease. The walk then goes on all night long.
