Semiahmoo Arts Society gives Surrey’s community of artists a place to showcase their talents. A “souper” fundraiser will give the city a way to help support its efforts, and everyone is welcome to enjoy a steaming hot bowl of freshly made soup.
Since its Soup Bowl fundraiser has proven so popular in the past, the society has decided to bring it back for another year. It will use the proceeds to install some upgrades to its exhibition spaces and gallery and also to offer enhanced gallery hours.
The way the fundraiser works has been kept very simple. When they arrive, each ticket holder will be invited to choose their favorite bowl from a group created by local artists. After this, they will be able to have it filled with the soup provided, and while they enjoy their meal, they will be welcome to chat with the other attendees and enjoy the occasion.
Since this yearly event tends to draw a lot of people, the organizers have chosen to offer two sittings. No matter which one they pick, each guest will be going home with a full belly, soup bowl in hand. This opportunity will be on offer on October 5. The South Surrey Recreation and Arts Centre will act as the venue for the fundraiser.
