Learn about the economy and your business over lunch

The Surrey Board of Trade is presenting the Economic Forecast Luncheon at Eaglequest Golf Course on February 2 from 11:30 am-1:30 pm. Tickets are $45 for Board members and $65 for non-members.

The keynote speaker at the luncheon will be Jack Finlayson from the Business Council of BC. He will discuss what businesses can expect from local, provincial, federal and international economic policies. Those in attendance will learn how the current economic climate affects businesses and non-profit associations and what can be done to counteract any negatives.

In addition, the Child and Family Friendly Workplace awards will be awarded. This award is given to workplaces that help support employees family and work responsibilities through things like flex time. There are three categories; small workplace with less than 50 employees, medium workplace with 50-250 employees and large workplace with over 250 employees. Winners are chosen by the Children’s Partnership of Surrey-White Rock and the Surrey Board of Trade. The winners of this award can publicize such a win on their next brochure or flyer. Printing such information on marketing materials is always good for business and will help raise trust amongst the public.

During the luncheon the Board of Trade will also be launch a position paper in collaboration with the Children’s Partnership. The luncheon will also be a good chance to network with your fellow business leaders, find out how they are coping and get examples of how to survive tough economic times from those who have gone through it and survived.
