A Surrey park will soon be getting a facelift, and the help of locals has been sought to aid in the construction of the Clayton Community Garden.
The volunteers who come out to take part in the activity will be asked to perform a variety of tasks. They can choose between manual activities and those of a more artistic nature.
The group will start out with putting the garden beds together, and they will then fill them with soil. The plants will need to be installed and mulch spread to help ensure the plantings look their best. Assistance will also be needed in painting Signs for the installations, and once they are ready, they will be erected with goal of making the space as user friendly and beautiful as possible.
To help add to the festive air of the day, there will be activities for the kids, and both snacks and music will be on offer. Anyone who is interested in joining in the effort is invited to visit to the garden to sign up to work in a plot or lend a hand in other ways. Flyer printing can be used to create materials that let the public know when and where such days of community service will be taking place.
This event has been planned for 7011 188 St., and it will be held on Saturday, April 28. Additional details can be found on the city’s website.
