Find out about the G7 international standards

The G7 Colour Seminar will take place at the Xerox Centre Presentation Centre on February 29 from 4-7 pm. Tickets are $25 for members of the British Columbia Printing and Imaging Association and $50 for non-members.

The G7 are recognized international standards for Print which:

“includes revolutionary techniques for dramatically improving print quality and consistency” in printing.

The G7 Colour Seminar will be presented by Ernst Vegt. Topics covered will include a discussion of the recognized standards in colour management, printing standards, newest European standards, the G7 methodology and how it will influence company profits. Those attending will also find out what types of tools are needed to comply with the G7 standards, how to involve their customers and clients in their decisions and will hear about actual G7 experiences.

The seminar is suggested for printing company owners, prepress operators, sales and customer service representatives and graphic designers. It is expected that professionals from all over BC, including Surrey will attend this industry seminar.

The G7 expert blog has some suggestions on how to comply with G7 standards. Some of those include using good paper and good ink, making sure your printing press is in good working condition and following industry-standard solid ink densities. Having international standards for printing and use of colour will ensure that no matter where you do business, you will be able to rely on quality printing services. Those who do not comply with these standards will quickly find themselves left behind.
