Family fun aplenty at upcoming community event

The 17th annual Fleetwood Community Festival in Surrey is set to take place next month.

As British Columbia’s second largest city, this event was created to foster a sense of community and offers fun, safe, and creative activities that support a healthy and diverse community for all types of families. It is a celebration of the city and its people.

Guests will have plenty of family-filled fun, because not only will performers be on site, but a range of activities, from bouncy castles and face painting to sports and crafts, will be situated around the park. An outdoor café, barbeque and concession stand will also be set up for patrons.

An event like this often keeps external vendors, such as printing companies, busy with a variety of services, including poster, banner and flyer printing.

In past years, the event has drawn more than 4,500 visitors from the local and surrounding communities, as well as tourists visiting the city. As Surrey continues to grow, the event’s patronage will likely naturally grow as well.

This annual event will be held at Francis Park (next to the Fleetwood Community Centre) on Saturday, September 12 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. There is no cost for admission. More information can be found online on the City of Surrey’s website, or by calling the Fleetwood Community Centre.
