Surrey arborists who are interested in adding to their skillset will soon have an opportunity to do so by attending an event that will teach them the finer points of tree risk assessment.
The two day long course will equip those who take part with knowledge of how they can assess a tree to determine its health and also whether or not it presents a risk to people or property. It will address a variety of topics, such as the mechanics and biology of trees, and what to look for when determining the health of a tree. The students will also learn how to analyze the data that is gathered to determine if a particular tree could potentially become a problem and report it if they it could present a hazard.
The first two days of the course will be dedicated to instruction, and the last will be split between an evaluation session that includes both a field and field component. The organizers of the training wished to remind those who plan to participate that they should review the Tree Risk Assessment Candidate Handbook before registering to take part. An area binding service provider will be able to provide textbooks and other material for this type of event.
The ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification course, which is being offered by Pacific Northwest ISA, will begin on January 10th and will be held in the Surrey Nature Centre. Further information can be obtained by visiting the organizer’s website.
