Annual green championship returns to Surrey

The Greater Vancouver Clean Technology Expo and Championship is taking place this January in Surrey.

Over 40 companies are expected to pitch their ideas to win $10,000 and the Greater Clean Technology Championship Trophy. It costs each company $150 to register and there will be two rounds of competition. Those same companies will be hosting booths that will showcase their products and services. Several community organizations are also expected to be on hand; those confirmed include BCIC, Public Works Canada, and Kwantlen Polytechnic University.

Several free workshops will be presented during the day; topics include selling in the United States, and opportunities to finance clean technology.

The day will open with a welcome by the mayor, followed by one round of competition and one workshop, then lunch. The afternoon will also consist of a competition round and a workshop running concurrently. The final workshop will happen while the judges are deliberating, and the day will end with the announcement of the winner.

Companies that are participating in the competition might contact Surrey brochure printers to provide them with printed materials to hand out to the public and to the judges.

The Greater Vancouver Clean Technology Expo and Championship is being held at Surrey City Hall on January 28th, from 10:00am - 4:00pm. Contact Stephen Wu at 604-591-4333 to learn more.
