Wine festival to hit Penticton this winter

The Okanagan Winter Wine Festival has opened up tickets for its January events, taking place in Penticton and the surrounding area.

The festival will run across a week and feature events designed to showcase local wineries and more. The kick-off event will take place on January 20 in Penticton with “Winter Sips South”, providing a chance to sample Okanagan wines and small bites, with live entertainment included. The festival will also be hosting the Winterfest at the District event, where each participant will receive a “TASTE Passport”, including six vouchers to exchange for local food and drink. This event is expanded to two days this year after last year’s edition sold out.

Other events for the festival include educational tours of snowy vineyards and the cellars at professional wineries, as well as chances to meet and socialize with other wine enthusiasts. Events such as this can act as a meeting place for both professionals and hobbyists, and are promoted through poster printing and social media. The organizers of the Winter Wine Festival hold similar events in spring and summer, as well as seminars and other gatherings throughout the year.

The 2024 Okanagan Winter Wine Festival runs from January 20 to 28 and will kick off with “Winter Sips South” at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre, with other events taking place at The District Wine Village and the Summerland Waterfront Resort.
