The Vees, Penticton’s junior-A hockey team, is inviting fans to get involved with the team by designing a special holiday jersey.
The jersey will be worn throughout December and is to be inspired by the tradition of colourful holiday sweaters. Fan designs will be submitted in white, with the final jerseys to be worn on ice in both red and green colours during pre-game warm-ups. The Vees are asking fans to put their graphic design skills to the test and customize the crest, shoulders, and waist of the jersey. All designs must include the Vees logo and avoid delicate lines and unreadable text.
The Vees will feature the winning design during all seven of their games next month, including home games against the West Kelowna Warriors on December 3 and 30, and the Wenatchee Wild on the 16th. The team plays in the British Columbia Hockey League and features amateur players aged 16 to 20. The Vees regularly hold events and contests to reach out to the community. December will also see a “Skate with the Vees” event on the 7th, where skaters and players of all ages can join the team in a public skate and “stick ‘n puck” practice.
The Penticton Vees will wear the fan-designed warmup uniforms throughout December, with design submissions closing on November 25.
