Penticton job fair encourages locals to start here

The Start Here Penticton Job Fair will be returning this month, aiming to provide job hunters and aspiring professionals with a chance to find new opportunities.

The fair boasts of being the largest job event in the South Okanagan area. It features more than 50 employers from across the region, such as BC Emergency Health Services, Evolve Sparkling House, and South Okanagan Deck, Railing & Glass. There will also be exhibits from a number of employment support organizations to explain what they can do for job seekers, ranging from the British Columbia Construction Association to Sprott Shaw College Penticton.

The Job Fair is hosted by the Penticton & Wine Country Chamber of Commerce, with support from the City of Penticton and WorkBC. Job seekers typically make use of resumé and business card printing to ensure that they are putting their best foot forward at events like this. For employers, the Job Fair is advertised as a way to connect with potentially valuable employees who may not emerge through traditional hiring, as well as a chance to network with other business. The spring timing of the event makes it ideal for upcoming university graduates.

The Start Here Job Fair will take place on March 19 at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre. Attendance is free for job seekers, with no pre-registration required.
