The three-day conference will focus on educational sessions dealing with topics such as soil health, pasture ecology, supply chains, and adapting to contemporary challenges. The conference’s keynote speakers are Elaine Ingham, president of Soil Food Web, and Kelly Terbasket of IndigenEYEZ on building bridges between farmers and the land.
Seminar titles include “Year-Round Vegetable Production in Cold Climates” and “Seed Saving as a Cultural Event”. Attendees will also receive a tour of the Covert Estate Family Winery and the Summerland Research & Development Centre, with plenty of chances to sample locally-grown food.
This will be the first time in years that the BC Organic Conference is held in person. There will be an eye to enabling networking and catching-up, with a large vendor market featuring tools for organic farming and gardening, as well as organic produce and other items. Vendors at events such as this often provide special deals and promotional items to help win over new customers.

The 2023 BC Organic Conference will take place from November 7 to 9 at the Penticton Trade & Convention Centre.
