The Penticton Scottish Festival will be returning this July, presenting traditional Highland games and entertainment.
The Festival will see competitors from near and far square off in events such as Highland dancing, bagpiping and drumming. There will also be the famous heavy events, including stone put, hammer throw, and the caber toss. Scottish cultural performers will take to the stage, including the Massed Pipe Bands, which will be followed by an award ceremony for the top competitor. Other musical performers and entertainers include Adora Wong & Kelsey Zachary, Gord McLaren, and Good Craic.
The Scottish Festival will also include a vendor’s market place offering local products inspired by Celtic and other culture as well as food and drink. Vendors at events like this often use special products and Business Cards to help connect with new customers.
Adult visitors can enjoy the beverage tent and a whiskey school providing educational points on the finer points of Scotland’s national liquor. For younger guests, there will be a kids’ zone with activities including an Indigenous Village and faery dragon face painting. This event has a long history in the Penticton area, having first taken place as the Penticton Highland Games in 1964.
The 2025 Penticton Scottish Festival will take place on July 6 at Kings Park. A free concert featuring the National Youth Pipe Band of New Zealand will be held the night before.
