Penti-Con to bring something wicked this fall

Penticton’s annual pop culture convention, appropriately named Penti-Con, will return for a Halloween-inspired edition this October.

With the subtitle “Something wicked this way comes”, the 2022 edition of Penti-Con is designed to be an opportunity to show off pop culture-inspired Halloween costumes early, with multiple cosplay contests available based on construction, performance and skits. This year’s event will also combine with the annual Zombie Walk event for a set of outdoor versions of popular children games –with participants dressed as the living dead. The convention floor will also offer the chance to dive into tabletop games, get a custom drawing from an artist, or sample comic Books, toys and Promotional Products on sale from vendors.

Penticon has announced guests for this year’s edition, including Kelowna-based comics scribe Leland Bjerg, bestselling author Herman Steuernagel, award-winning cosplayer AK Wirru and voice actor Adin Rudd. There will also be spaces for panels and workshops run by fans and enthusiasts covering everything from pop culture history to arts and crafts tutorials. As the date is so close to Halloween, there will be trick or treating around the vendor’s hall, with the convention presenting an all-ages environment and encouraging attendance from kids and their families.

The 2022 edition of Penti-Con will take place on October 22 and 23 at the Penticton Trade & Convention Centre.
