The Malicious tour has become a staple in Penticton and speedways around North America, with large and colourfully decorated trucks doing stunts, racing head-to-head, and crushing other cars. The event features machines with names like Megasuarus, Weekend Warrior, Spitfire and Identity Theft, piloted by trained stunt drivers. The venue aims to provide family-friendly entertainment and space for guests to relax and get a close-up look at the big trucks.
The Penticton Speedway describes the event as a way for the community to come together:
“This marks it out as more than just a sporting event; it's a community celebration and a family day out that will create memories for years to come.”
In addition to the main show, there will be a full day of festivities leading up to it, including a meet-and-greet with the trucks and their drivers. The half-time show will feature the Jet Engine Golf Cart Show, with huge sparks of flame powering an ordinary cart, and the Tough Truck competition. There will be a shuttle service running to and from the speedway on the days of the event, with the goal of making it more accessible. Extreme-sports events such as this often use dramatic graphic design and radio advertisement to help convey a sense of excitement and drama.
The Malicious Monster Truck Tour will kick off at the Penticton Speedway on May 11 and 12.
