Expanded Frost Fest to return to Penticton

After a successful first instalment in 2024, Frost Fest Winter Carnival will be returning in a bigger form to Penticton this January.

This year’s festival will expand to three days, with new events. The festival will launch with a Hot Air Balloon Glow Up, with large balloons taking to the skies above Okanagan Lake Park. This will be followed by the Frost Fest Gala, a formal event at the Poplar Grove Winery featuring a full course dinner, wine, and entertainment, with proceeds benefiting the Ha Ha Ha Kidzfest charity. Those looking for more of a family feel can enjoy the In From the Cold Movie Night, with a screening of Cool Runnings and traditional theatre fixings.

The outdoor ice rink will be open all Saturday with events run by the Penticton Vees junior hockey team, from skating lessons to exhibition games. There will be a KidzFest Family Fun Zone with child-friendly activities, and a beverage garden with more adult fare. The area’s top snowboarders will face off in the Downtown Throwdown Rail Jam. Sunday morning will feature a warm pancake breakfast with Penticton Fire Fighters and a frosty swim as part of the Okanagan Winter Beach challenge. Winter festivals like this often use methods like flyer printing and social media to help reach out to local residents.

The 2025 Frost Festival Winter Festival will take place from January 17 to 19, with the core festival area located at Gyro Park & Main Street, and other events happening throughout Penticton.
