The 49th annual Penticton Peach Festival is taking place next month for five days.
Activities will be held at various locations in the city. The Grand Parade, which will take place on August 6 beginning at 10:00 AM, will start at Main Street and Eckhart Avenue and travel to the Rose Garden car park. The parade will likely consist of marching bands, floats, vehicles, and strolling entertainers.
Other activities that are planned to take place during the festival include a chef cook-off competition, Ogopogo war canoe races, the Reel Peach Film Festival and a sandcastle competition. There will also be amusement rides and games, peach bin races, a square dance festival and a slo-pitch tournament.
Entertainment will be provided by groups such as Chilliwack, Aidan and Mandy and Robyn and Ryleigh, the Get Bent Belly Dancers, the Flyin’ Fools High Dive Show, the Black Widow Rope Spinners, and hypnotist William James.
A variety of vendors will also be on hand to sell arts and crafts, as well as general merchandise.
Many of the participants in the parade will probably be investing in Banners from a local printing company to either attach to a float or carry.
