The 105th annual Summerland Fall Fair is taking place this September for two days.
This year's theme is ‘Community on the Bounty’. The festival was originally founded as a tribute to the fruit industry in the area, but has grown over the years to include local wine producers and vineyards. It features many of the traditional aspects of a fall fair, such as contests, agricultural and educational displays, demonstrations, and small animal 4H judging.
There is also set to be a pioneer workshop, a quilt show, an ‘ecoture’ fashion show, and a young performers’ showcase. There are set to be lots of activities for children, including pony rides, mini golf, cartoon character guests, magic workshops, a LEGO bin, and an Imagination Station. The kids can also take part in a treasure hunt for prizes.
All of the information that people need to compete in contests like photography, junior flowers, and fruits or vegetables is printed in the event program. It is likely that local catalog printing companies have helped to design this program, which will be available to interested parties all over the area, including in nearby Penticton.
