Maple Ridge will soon be offering its older adults and their families a day an opportunity to get out into the community.
Local seniors who have been looking for a way to keep active and social while giving back to their community are invited to drop by the Seniors Activity and Volunteer Fair. It will serve as a sort of clearing house, offering access to information about local service groups and clubs, as well as support in the area.
The attendees will be able to browse through the assortment of tables and displays, and they can learn about volunteer programs and other ways they can get involved. There will be enough space for up to 35 booths, and there is no fee being charged to the organizations that reserve them.
Each of the groups that take part in the day will be asked to supply prizes for distribution to the crowd, and light refreshments will be available for the vendors. Promotional products are sometimes distributed at such events.
Golden Ears United Church will be providing space for the Seniors Activity and Volunteer Fair, which will be on offer on Saturday, October 14th. It will run from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm, and all older adults are welcome. General admission tickets for the session are free to the public.
