Maple Ridge is home to a site focused on forest research, and a special, behind the gates tour is set to be offered to the public who would like to find out more about its purpose and history.
The Malcolm Knapp Research Forest is marking its 77th year, and a guided tour of the site will offer insight into the role it has played over the years. It will be a sneak peek that is not often available, and Hélène Marcoux, who is a Registered Professional Forester and also the venue’s manager, will lead the activity.
Those who register for the session will meet up at the gate, and once everyone has arrived, they will be taken on their tour. They will travel in a van, accessing parts of the site not normally open to the public, and they will find out what research projects have been conducted over the decades it has been in use. It is for those ages 16 and up, and only a set number of seats have been made available.
A guided tour or other function may whet the appetite of those who take part, leaving them eager to find out even more. A brochure printing company can craft materials to hand out that include details not covered during the activity.
