This February, a walk will raise funds to combat homelessness in Maple Ridge while working to raise awareness about this issue.
Employee groups, families, friends and anyone else who wishes to make a difference is welcome to register to participate in the Coldest Night of the Year walk. As they go, they will be taking on the weather conditions those who have nowhere to go face every night, but they will have the warmth of knowing they are making a difference.
Those who register for the fundraiser will gather at the Salvation Army Gateway of Hope in Langley, and registration will start at 4pm. There will be opening ceremonies before the participants head out, and they will all start at 5:15pm. Starting at 6pm, the walkers will be treated to a hot meal and a chance to warm up.
To accommodate as many people as possible, planners have arranged three different routes. They will all be well marked, and rest stops will be set up along each path. Attendees are reminded to wear appropriate footwear for the occasion as well as warm clothing and a smile. Toques printed with the event’s Logo Design will be available, and more details about these can be found on the Coldest Night of the Year website.
February 22nd will be the date for this chilly activity, which will raise both money and awareness. All ages are encouraged to take part.Get a Free Quote for Logo Design
