Knowing how to reupholster a chair or other piece of furniture can be a thrifty option that is also kind to the environment, and a Maple Ridge workshop will help those who are interested to get started.
The Re-Upholstery at OWNE - Arm or Wing back Chair class series, which will be running for one week from Monday to Friday, will introduce some of the basic techniques used in upholstery. The skills taught will be practical and can be adapted to a variety of projects, and each attendee will have the opportunity to complete at least one piece to take home.
The course will introduce techniques that can save money and can be used to create unique pieces of furniture, and it may even inspire some of the attendees to take up the craft and earn some extra income. Some previous experience with using a sewing machine is needed, and at least 20 hours of instruction will be provided.
Hands-on workshops offer a way for the public to learn a new skill or hobby. Manuals and other texts for an activity like this will be available at area printing services companies.
The team at OWNE Studio will be sharing its knowledge of the art of reupholstering starting on July 11th. The end date for the function will be July 15th, and the studio is located at 12835 Lilley Drive.
