A series of upcoming Maple Ridge events will offer live music out in the fresh air of a summer evening. Hosted by the Maple Ridge Historical Society, these concerts will be free, and the performers will be from the local area.
The society has planned a schedule of four outdoor concerts that will be held on Port Haney Wharf, and the genres will range all the way from country to big band. Anyone who would like to purchase some refreshments will be welcome to do so, and it will be an all-ages occasion.
As there will be no seating available at the concert site, those who plan on attending are reminded to bring a folding chair or blanket. They are also encouraged to carpool or ride share if possible, as parking is limited.
The planners of these outdoor performances noted that there are volunteer positions available, and they may be sponsorship opportunities as well. These can help to build anticipation in the community and ensure the functions are a success.
The dates for this series of sunset performance will be July 15, July 29, August 12, and August 26. They may be cancelled in the event of inclement weather.
