Maple Ridge asked to bundle up for local fundraiser

Maple Ridge has earned a reputation for being a community that cares, and an upcoming area event will reflect this by helping those in need.

The Salvation Army offers a variety of programs that bring homeless people in from the cold, and it also provides a range of other support to those in need. Its goal is to offer a hand up, rather than just a hand out, and its “Coldest Night of the Year” fundraiser is one of its upcoming efforts.

While this will not be the first time this event has taken place, the organizer has made some adaptations so that everyone who would like to take part can do so safely. They can choose to make a monetary donation to a team of walkers, or they can even hit the pavement themselves, asking friends, family and colleagues to make a contribution in honour of their efforts.

The monies raised through this activity will support the Salvation Army’s Gateway of Hope initiative. Marketing materials can help to ensure this sort of function is a huge success, and Print shops are often used to create these materials.

This year's “Coldest Night of the Year” fundraiser will be bringing the community together on February 20, 2021. The Salvation Army website explains how to get started raising money in support of the cause.
