Capilano Suspension Bridge Park will be holding a special Canyon Frights event this October, aiming to use the natural sights of the Delta area to create an attraction just as spooky as any haunted house.
The event will be “hosted” by the ghostly Elizabeth and Mac, former owners of the park. The iconic suspension bridge will light up in Halloween colours, with spooky lights all across the park. The Cliffwalk attraction will feature a giant spider and other freaky sights. For younger visitors, there will be a variety of festive family activities such as the Creepy Canyon Quest, or the Raptors Ridge exhibitions featuring great horned owls and falcons.
As a specialty for October, Raptors Ridge will be open on October 1 and October 25 to celebrate Thanksgiving and Halloween respectively, aiming to draw in families from nearby areas like Delta and Vancouver.
The Canyon Frights nights will also include food and live entertainment at the Loggers’ Grill Plaza and Cliff House Restaurant & Bar, including special seasonal drinks and dishes such as the Autumn Spice Apple Pie, Dracula Bite Hot Chocolate, and Peek-A-Boo-Tini. Visitors are encouraged to wear family-friendly costumes to get in the Halloween spirit. Parks and conservation areas often use seasonal events like this to encourage visitors to see nature in a new light, with poster printing and social media among the tools used to raise awareness.
The 2024 Canyon Frights events will take place from October 11 to 31 at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park in North Vancouver.
