Delta band to continue holiday tradition

The Delta Concert Band will be bringing back its annual Christmas concert this year with two dates.

The band is made up of amateur musicians from throughout the Lower Mainland area, and has been in existence for over 60 years. The holiday programming will begin with an afternoon matinee Family Christmas Concert, with audience members encouraged to bring children. Two days later, the group will perform in the North Delta Centre for the Arts Christmas Concert.

The group will be performing a combination of classic holiday standards and more modern songs. Audience members are welcome to sing along to their favourite carols. Past editions of the Band’s holiday concerts have asked for donations to local charities, including non-perishable food items or cash for the band’s operating expenses, for admission.

The band is currently led by musical director Jim Tempest and features a full assortment of classical instruments. The two holiday shows are part of the Delta Concert Band’s annual program, which includes a number of seasonally themed concerts for occasions ranging from the summer to Remembrance Day. Amateur concerts like this are often advertised through methods like poster printing and social media to reach a wider audience.

The 2025 Delta Concert Band Family Concert will take place on December 14, and the NDCA Christmas Concert on the evening of December 16, both at the North Delta Centre for the Arts.
