Mother Nature offers many lessons to those who are willing to learn, and a Delta area workshop will teach educators how to introduce her into their classrooms.
A full-day workshop that will be focused on native plants will be on offer for teachers at the VanDusen Botanical Garden. It will explore a selection of species that have adapted to local conditions over thousands of years, and the schedule for the day includes a lunch break.
During the day-long workshop, the participants will discover how these native plants play an important role in their respective ecosystems, and they will find out how the plants, animals, fungi and other organisms all depend on one another. They will learn how to identify a variety of trees, shrubs and flowering plants, and both urban and rural areas will be discussed. Any educators that are interested can sign up now for this activity.
Teachers are often on the hunt for ways to add to their knowledge base, and attending a workshop like this will supply them with an opportunity to do so. Promotional Products for such an activity will be available at local Print shops.
Delta teachers who would like to discover a new way to incorporate nature-based learning into their lesson plans are welcome to sign up for this in-person activity now. It will take place on April 24th, and it will kick off at 9:30am. The registration fee is $60.
