Delta event to highlight local pets
The Delta Community Animal Shelter will be hosting its annual Animal Expo this August, aiming to showcase the best of Delta’s four-legged friends.
The Expo will focus on dogs, with attendees invited to bring their leashed canines and check in with local pet organizations and vendors offering specialty products for various kinds of pets. People and their pets can participate in contests and games such as the Rubber Ducky Relay. The event will also feature demonstrations from specially trained dogs featuring agility, disc golf, and scent tracking. For humans, there will be food trucks representing the local community’s culinary diversity, and interactive activities for children to learn about animals and how to care for them.
The event aims to raise awareness for the work the Animal Shelter does providing veterinary care, rehabilitation and housing to animals. Visitors can donate to the Shelter’s Tollie Fund or learn more about how they can adopt an animal themselves. Organizations like this often use methods like brochure printing and speeches to help explain the benefits they provide. This will be the 14th annual Community Animal Expo hosted in Delta, in association with FortisBC’s community involvement program and with the help of local volunteers.
The 2025 Delta Community Animal Expo will take place on August 10 at Memorial Park. Attendance is free for all visitors.
