Chilliwack will once again be playing host to the annual Terry Fox Run, and its organizers are seeking the public’s support.
The day will get off to a brisk start with registration and a breakfast provided by the Mount Cheam Lions Club, with admission by donation. After that, the run will take place, and participants can choose from a 2km, 5km, and 10km route. It has been chosen because it is suitable for everyone, including those in wheelchairs or with strollers, and dogs are welcome provided that they are on a leash.
Monies raised through the event will be used to help fund cancer research.
Registration will begin at 7:30 am, followed by the breakfast. The run itself will start at 9:00 am, and will last until 12:00 noon. It has been planned for the Landing Sports Complex, which is located on Spadina Avenue. A Print company will be able to provide everything from Banners to T-Shirts, certificates and awards for those who took part, the likes of which are often needed to make such events into a success.
This year, the run will be dedicated to Rolly Fox, who was Terry’s father.
The Chilliwack Terry Fox Run 2016 will take place on September 18. Those who are interested in registering to take part, or who would like to make a donation, can do so by visiting the event’s website.
