The Stinking Rose Garlic Festival will take place in Chilliwack this September, offering unique music and a celebration of harvest food.
The festival will include food and artisan vendors with an eye to highlighting the crops of the fall harvest system, including the distinctive taste and smell of garlic. There will also be contests and games for those looking to have fun and win prizes. The festival has also been known in the past for its raucous concerts, and is looking to expand them this year with a themed event.
The headlining event of the festival will be “SKAtoberfest”, combining the Jamaican-influenced ska music genre with the Bavarian celebration of Oktoberfest. The show will feature ska artists WHITEY, Wooden Horsemen and Go Bragg. Audience members can also enjoy steins of German beer, schnitzels and other German food, and dress in lederhosen and other themed costumes.
The Stinking Garlic Festival also helps to raise money for local charity. Last year’s event raised $3,000 for Chilliwack Community Services, which was a 50% increase from 2024. Fundraising efforts often make use of poster printing and signage production for special events to encourage people to donate and inform them of what the donation will be used for.
The 2026 Stinking Rose Garlic Festival will occur at Fantasy Farms in Chilliwack on September 19 and 20.
