The show, called Upright Beats, will also feature an appearance by jazz composer and bassist Jodi Proznick, adding combining with the Bergmann’s basis roots in classical music. The pair are an internationally renowned piano duo who play a mixture of classical and contemporary pieces, including original arrangements
The concert program will travel through musical history, going from classic works from Bach and Mozart to “Girl from Ipanema” and the Ukrainian folk song “What a Moonlight Night.” Promotional material for the concert promises:
“…another inspiring musical journey through classical and modern composers! [...] this concert will have you tapping your toes. Step out and enjoy an evening of Upright Beats!”
Classical and jazz concerts like this often use social media and methods such as brochure printing to help reach a wider audience. Upright Beats is part of the Chilliwack Arts & Cultural Centre Society’s Concert Series, which aims to highlight different genres of music throughout the year. The Bergmann Duo will also be returning in March for their performance of La Valise as part of the series.
Upright Beats will take place on the evening of Tuesday, February 10 at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre. Discount tickets are available for Centre members.
