What's Happening in Chilliwack, BC…

Workshop series to add extra colour to Chilliwack

Watercolour painting techniques have been used for centuries, and a Chilliwack workshop series will offer an introduction to this creative style.

The Chilliwack Cultural Centre will offer a Watercolour Beginnings short course, which will teach the fundamentals of using this type of paint. Dan Berube will facilitate the activity, and it is intended to be a casual and relaxed experience.

The group will be led through a variety of techniques that can be used with watercolours, and will also learn about colour and form. Basic washes and wet on wet styles will be explored, and students can get in plenty of practice.

The organizers explained that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, spacing restrictions are in effect. Anyone who has questions about this or needs more information is asked to contact the organizers.

Each person who registers for this series will be given a set of materials they can use at home and during the workshops. A flyer printing company will be able to provide a full line of marketing materials that will help to make sure this sort of function is a success.

This introduction to the art of using watercolours will begin on September 2nd. It will be held over the next four Wednesday evenings starting at 6:30pm, and will be on offer at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre.
