Walk for Memories on January 29

The Investors Group Walk for Memories will take place at Landing Sports Centre on January 29 from 2-4. The Walk for Memories is being held in communities all over BC to support the Alzheimer Society of BC.

It is the 10th annual Walk held in Chilliwack and this year’s is in honour of Richard Kostrzewa. It is free to take part in the Walk for Memories but donations are always welcomed. Participants raise money for the organization through pledges or donations. There is not limit on how much or as how little you walk, it is entirely up to the individual participant.

The Landing Sports Centre will be featuring lots of activities for both participants and those who come to support them. There will be musical entertainment, a silent auction, free Tim Hortons beverages and Timbits, a draw for door prizes and a kid’s zone.

Local businesses can show their support for the cause by forming teams to take part in the Walk for Memories. It is a great way to raise employee morale and to show the community that you care about Chilliwack. A business can begin by downloading the team poster. Printing it out and posting it in common areas or handing each employee a copy will get the word out quickly. Teams can design T-Shirts for each member to wear which let everyone know what company they represent and those employees who do not actively take part in the walk can sponsor those who are. It is a great way to raise good will in the community.
