The 21st annual Chilliwack Flight Fest is taking place over two days next month. The festival is a presentation of the Chilliwack Flying Club and attracts between 5,000 and 7,000 visitors every year.
The two-day festival will feature a BBQ steak dinner, a twilight air show and a dance for those aged 19 and up. There will also be a pancake breakfast, a kid's chocolate cream pie eating contest, an airport open house, and a variety of food vendors. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets to enjoy the air show.
The event’s organizers are currently looking for volunteers to help ensure that everything runs smoothly over the weekend. They are also seeking sponsors to help make sure the event will continue for another year. No doubt Chilliwack business leaders will be jumping at the chance to sponsor this popular event. Many will be working with their local printing companies to let their current customers know about their relationship to the Flight Fest through the distribution of Flyers.
The Chilliwack Flight Fest will take place at Chilliwack Municipal Airport from August 17 - 81 from 10:00am - 4:00pm each day and admission is free. The BBQ will take place on August 17 at 6:00pm with the dance beginning at 9:00pm at the Hangar. Tickets for the BBQ and dance are $30 each.
