Parkinson Society British Columbia will be holding its largest annual event, the Parkinson Superwalk, for the 35th time this year, including a walk in Chilliwack.
The Superwalk event will see over 20 different communities from across British Columbia holding their own walks. The Chilliwack event will include three different routes to search each participant’s abilities, ranging from 0.8 kilometres to 1.6 kilometres. Participants will be able to register in advance or sign up before the walk.
Each walker will also be raising money to contribute to the Parkinson Society, which will go towards programs and services for those with Parkinson’s, as well as research into a cure for the debilitating disease. Parkinson’s currently affects over 17 million people in British Columbia.
Donors can join teams to pool their contributions together and compete for the top spots on a leaderboard. The top fundraising team in the province will receive recognition and gift cards, while individual high donors will be entered into draws for prize packages worth hundreds of dollars. Charitable events like this often use prizes and Promotional Products to help encourage people to donate and take part.
The 2025 edition of Parkinson Superwalk will take place in Chilliwack on the morning of September 6.. The walk route will go around the Chilliwack Landing Sports Centre and Chilliwack Cultural Centre.
